Manny Machado celebrates with fan on field before security takedown in wild scene

Everybody was getting in on the Padres’ celebrations.

Following the team’s 10-8 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday night in which star third baseman Manny Machado hit a walk-off two-run homer, one fan ran onto the field and tried to get in on the fun.

The supporter ran next to Machado on the grass at Petco Park and began jumping up and down while recording himself.

Machado even began jumping up and down along with him before he realized the fan was not one of his teammates.

The fan was soon brought down by security and taken off the field.

The Padres (49-43) entered the bottom of the ninth inning trailing 8-7 after seeing their 7-2 lead dissipate in the top of the inning.

Jurickson Profar led off the bottom of the ninth with a solo homer to tie the game before Machado ended it with his shot to left-center field.

“This team is built that way. We’re going to fight,” Machado told reporters afterward.

“We had our best three players go up there and do it. We created havoc like we’ve been doing all year. We’ve got the best player in baseball right now going up there and leading it off. He tied up the game and gave us the chance to go out and win it in the same inning.”

Machado said the walk-off homer “is up there with the best ones I’ve had.”

It was his 12th homer of the season, his sixth at home in San Diego.

He entered Saturday hitting .270/.320/.425 with a .745 OPS and 49 RBIs.
