Germany vs. Denmark odds, prediction: Euro 2024 Round of 16 picks, best bets

Stepping onto the pitch Saturday, we will see a sizable favorite German squad opposite a pesky Denmark team.

On the line is a trip to the quarterfinals and a date with the winner of Spain vs. Georgia match Sunday.

In all likelihood, Spain will roll through Georgia and move onto the quarterfinals, where they will probably be big favorites against Denmark and moderately favored against Germany.

The Germans are now tied with France for the third-best odds to win Euro 2024 at +550 odds at FanDuel, behind only Spain (+440) and England (+320).

Offense has been fueling this optimism for Germany, having scored multiple goals in five of their last seven matches, including a 2-0 win over France in March.

However, we’ve seen Denmark’s defense stifle some opponents of late, notably the powerful English offense that had fits trying to get balls through the net and nearly lost in a 1-1 draw.

Something will have to give in the Round of 16, though.

Germany vs. Denmark prediction

(3 p.m. ET, FOX)

Both teams are dealing with suspensions in their starting group, as bruting defenseman Jonathan Tah will be forced to miss this game for Germany, while the Danes will be absent defensive midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

It will eventually become clear who will fill in for these contributors, but neither suspension should greatly affect the outcome of this match.

Germany will still use their high-pressure ball control-focused style of attack, and while Denmark are strong defensively, they don’t do quite enough on the offensive side to inspire significant confidence that they can pull the upset.

Goalie Manuel Neuer is a legend at this point and still one of the best keepers in the tournament, while Denmark really struggled as favorites against Serbia last time out.

Denmark will put up a fight, but this not a good matchup for them and Germany should roll.

PICK: Germany wins in regulation (-155, DraftKings)
