Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart fired up about OG Anunoby’s record $212.5M Knicks contract: ‘Money Man’

It was the usual suspects chiming in after news broke that the Knicks and OG Anunoby had reportedly agreed to a five-year, $212.5 million contract

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart couldn’t help but have a little fun on social media, in a similar fashion to the way the two had done on Tuesday night after the Knicks had traded for Mikal Bridges in a blockbuster deal with the Nets.

Wednesday’s deal with Anunoby made it the largest contract that the team has handed out in franchise history.

“Money Man OG,” Hart posted on X, along with a fire emoji.

Not to be outdone, Brunson had a post of his own playing into the massive contract that was doled out to keep Anunoby in Manhattan.

“OG CAN I HOLD A DOLLAR!!!!!!!!” Brunson wrote

Anunoby had decided to opt out of his contract earlier this week and become a free agent, but ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Knicks and player’s camp had been talking over the past few days.

The deal was reported just hours before the first night of the NBA draft being held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and was the latest development in a busy 24 hours for the Knicks, who have gone into full championship hunt mode with the addition of Bridges on Tuesday night.

Hart and Brunson took to social media following the news to ecstatically celebrate the addition of their former Villanova Wildcats teammate.

Brunson, Hart, Bridges and Donte DiVincenzo all played college basketball at Villanova for two seasons.

Hart had a particularly memorable post on Tuesday night amid the Bridges news when he posted, “YOOOOO @mikal_bridges FINALLY HIT MY LINE!!!!!”

The social media post was a callback to a joke he has made on several occasions where he’s called on Bridges to hit him up, with the implication seemingly being that Hart was trying to recruit Bridges to come play for the Knicks, which has now become a reality.
