Scottie Scheffler in full dad mode as he arrives at Travelers Championship with wife Meredith and baby boy

Scottie Scheffler was in full dad mode Thursday upon arriving at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., with wife Meredith and their infant son, Bennett.

The world’s No. 1 golfer pushed Bennett’s stroller as he entered the clubhouse at TPC River Highlands with Meredith at his side, according to footage shared by the PGA Tour on X.

This week’s PGA event comes about a month after Scheffler and Meredith became first-time parents.

Scheffler, who has been married to Meredith since 2020, announced Bennett’s arrival in an Instagram post on May 13.

“Welcome to the world little one. Your mom & dad love you so much,” the two-time Masters winner gushed.

Days later, the 27-year-old Scheffler teed off at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, K.Y., for the opening round of the PGA Championship.

Hours after shooting a 4-under 67 in the first round, Scheffler was arrested outside Valhalla in the early hours of May 17 due to a miscommunication over traffic flow, which stemmed from a fatal incident involving a shuttle bus.

He was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officer directing traffic.

Scheffler was released from custody that morning and proceeded to shoot a five-under 66 in the second round. He finished tied for eighth at 13-under in the second major of the year.

The charges against Scheffler were dropped weeks later.

“It’s not something that I love talking about and it’s something that I’m hoping to move past, but when the charges are dropped, that’s kind of only the beginning of kind of getting past it, if that makes sense,” Scheffler said earlier this month in his first press conference since the four charges were dropped.

“…  It was definitely a bit of a relief, but not total relief because that’s something that will always, I think, kind of stick with me.”

The reigning Masters champion teed off last week at the U.S. Open, finishing tied for 41st at 2-over par at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina.

Scheffler has since been named to the U.S. Olympic golf roster, along with Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and this year’s PGA Championship winner, Xander Schauffele, to compete at the Paris Games next month.

After 18 holes on Thursday, Scheffler was tied for sixth at 5-under, two shots behind leader Tom Kim.
