Oilers vs. Panthers prediction: NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 2 odds, pick

The Oilers will look to even up the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final Monday night against the Panthers in Game 2.

Edmonton is still the underdog going into Game 2, at +110 on BetMGM, while Florida is sitting at -130 on Monday.

The Oilers actually outplayed the Panthers in Game 1, leading in high-danger chances by a wide 18 to 6 margin.

Those were for naught, though, as the Oilers were shut out by Sergei Bobrovsky, who made 32 saves in the 3-0 win.

Will those high-value shots result in a few goals to get the Oilers back to even?

Below we break down our Panthers-Oilers prediction and best bet for Monday.

(8 p.m. ET, ABC)

The 3-0 win was a bit of a surprise all things considered since the Oilers are one of the best teams in the NHL in terms of offense.

If Bobrovsky is going to play out of his mind for the remainder of the Cup Final, it will be an uphill battle for the opposing team .

However, there should be some optimism that the Oilers will even the series at one apiece.

Star Connor McDavid had 0.81 expected goals (xG) in Game 1, and it’s unlikely the Panthers will be able to hold him down much going forward.

You may also remember that the Panthers were -140 favorites in Game 1, with the comeback on the Oilers being +120.

Money Puck’s simulation calculator show that the Oilers win that game 91.9 percent of the time and that they were expected to score 5.61 goals in Game 1.

Of course, games are played on the ice and not on keyboards.

But the data is certainly concerning for the Panthers.
