National Donut Day is Friday, June 7, and there’s no better way to celebrate than grabbing the delicious treat for free or at a discounted price.
The foodie holiday is celebrated on the first Friday of June every year. There’s a second, not as widely celebrated National Donut Day in November with less deals and celebration.
National Donut Day was first established in Chicago in 1938, honoring the Salvation Army Donut Lassies — the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
It initially began as a fundraiser for Chicago’s Salvation Army to help those in need during the Great Depression.
Now, we celebrate by enjoying our favorite doughnut. Here are some deals to help you enjoy the holiday:
Dunkin’
America runs on Dunkin’ — especially on National Donut Day. To celebrate, customers can get a free donut with every beverage purchase on Friday, June 7.
“No one loves donuts and coffee more than Dunkin’ and our amazing customers,” Beth Turenne, VP of Category Management at Dunkin’, said in a statement. “National Donut Day is a special day for us because it’s all about celebrating that love and obsession. Plus, we get to share that joy by giving away millions of free donuts.”
The brand is teaming up with one of country music’s biggest stars, Jelly Roll, in a new video in which he shares the story behind his name — “his childhood love of jelly donuts” — and his favorite ways to enjoy Dunkin’.
Dunkin’ is also releasing a new limited-edition merch drop “dedicated to all things donuts” so people can wear their love for donuts on their sleeves. The collection includes:
- “Jelly” Hoodie ($40): A super soft pink hoodie, perfect for jelly donut enthusiasts.
- “Grab a Glazed” Hoodie ($40): A soft, white hoodie first spotted in the brand’s “Popstar” commercial that aired during the GRAMMYs earlier this year.
- Donut Tees ($30): Inspired by concert tees, two t-shirts feature Dunkin’s classic Chocolate Glazed Donut with Sprinkles.
Lastly, Dunkin’ has partnered with Scrub Daddy for the release of the limited-edition donut-shaped Dunkin’ Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy sponges.
Krispy Kreme
There’s no better way to celebrate National Donut Day than with your favorite flavor — and you can get your favorite Krispy Kreme doughnut for free on Friday, June.
The offer is only valid in participating stores, not online, and can only be redeemed once per guest. However, it excludes limited-time-only doughnuts such as the Dolly Parton collection.
Additionally, customers can get $2 Original Glazed dozens with the purchase of any dozen. The offer can be redeemed in the shop or online for pickup and delivery, and for online orders, just place two dozens in your cart and use the promo code “BOGO2.”
Shipley Do-Nuts
For National Donut Day, visit Shipley Do-Nuts to get one free with any purchase.
To claim your free donut, stop by any participating store, use the code “DONUTDAY24” online, or use the coupon code in your DO-HAPPY Rewards App.

7-Eleven
7-Eleven loyalty members can get a glazed doughnut for $1 on National Donut Day at 7-Eleven stores, as well as Speedway and Stripes locations, the brand told Axios.
Tim Hortons
On Friday, Tims Rewards members can get a free donut with any drink purchase.
To redeem the deal, simply log in to your Tims Rewards account, activate the offer in your offer tray, add a donut to your order and check out. After this, your free donut will be unlocked to be redeemed during your next visit.

Voodoo Doughnut
For those who want to celebrate “the Voodoo way,” the doughnut shop is offering a $10 dozen that lives up to their slogan: “Good Things Come in Pink Boxes.”
The limited-time-only Pink Raised Glazed Dozens contains 13 bright pink donuts.
Duck Donuts
On Friday, June 7, customers at Duck Donuts can snag a free cinnamon sugar donut with no purchase necessary.
