Man randomly stabbed by stranger in NYC while walking to his car

A man was viciously stabbed in an unprovoked attack on the Upper West Side early Friday while walking to his car, according to the NYPD.

The 30-year-old victim was heading to his vehicle on Amsterdam Avenue near West 87th Street around 3 a.m. — in front of a CVS Pharmacy — when a stranger approached and knifed him in his right side without warning, police said. 

The unidentified assailant took off and no arrests have been made.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. 

The random attack came hours after another stranger stabbed a straphanger in the neck on board a Brooklyn train, cops said. 

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was knifed in the neck during a spat with another man over a seat on board a southbound No. 3 train at the Saratoga Avenue station in Brownsville, according to authorities.

He was taken to the Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. 

The male attacker fled the scene, and no arrests had been made by Friday morning.
