Bill Belichick spending some of his free time at cheerleading competitions

Bill Belichick seems to be enjoying another sport outside of football: cheerleading.

The veteran coach — who mutually parted ways with the Patriots four days after New England’s Week 18 loss to the Jets on Jan. 7 — attended a cheerleading competition Saturday, as seen in photos obtained by TMZ.

Belichick, who’s usually at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis at this time, was seen taking in the 2024 Coastal At The Capitol cheer and dance event in National Harbor, Md.

The 71-year-old coach kept to himself and sat in the back row of the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, where he watched at least one of the competing teams’ routines before exiting, people at the event told TMZ.

Belichick, who was dressed casually in dark jeans and a navy sweater, reportedly declined to take pictures at the event, but was polite to other fans in attendance.

It’s unclear exactly why the future Hall-of-Fame coach attended the cheer competition.

Belichick’s schedule might be less busy these days after parting ways with the Patriots after a historic 24-run — which included six titles, tied for the most by a franchise in NFL history, and nine Super Bowl appearances.

At this time, Belichick is usually scouting talent at the Combine to prepare for the next NFL campaign, but the coach has yet to take his talents to another team.

Belichick expressed that he wants to continue coaching, but it’s a matter of an organization being willing to take on the veteran coach and his potential demands to call the shots in various areas.

Many are expecting him to be back among the coaching ranks in 2025 and he’s even heard from a number of NFL owners, according NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Patriots finished last season at the bottom of the AFC East with a 4-13 record, the franchise’s worst mark since 1992.

Belichick interviewed twice with the Atlanta Falcons, but lost the job to Raheem Morris.

“I will always be a Patriot,” Belichick said when he announced his departure from New England. “I look forward to coming back here but, at this time, we’re going to move on. I look forward and am excited for the future. Always very very appreciative of the opportunity here, the support here and Robert (Kraft) what you’ve done for me. Thank you.”

In 24 seasons in Foxborough, Belichick compiled a 266-120 regular-season record and won 17 AFC East titles — including 11 straight from 2009-19, the longest streak in NFL history.
