GloRilla makes Damian Lillard intentions very clear amid Bucks star’s divorce

Damian Lillard wasn’t the only one taking shots during NBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.

Rapper GloRilla expressed interest in the Bucks superstar early Monday, posting a message to the competition on X after sharing a photo of herself and the newly crowned MVP of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

“Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf,” GloRilla wrote.

Social media users then reacted to GloRilla’s message, with some calling attention to Lillard’s divorce from wife Kay’La, his college sweetheart.

The eight-time NBA All-Star filed for divorce on Oct. 2, 2023, less than a week after he was traded from the Trail Blazers to the Bucks after 11 seasons in Portland.

The filing cited “irreconcilable differences” that “caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage,” the Portland-based Willamette Week reported at the time.

The Lillards wed in September 2021 after originally meeting at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

They share three children: son Damian Jr., 5, and 3-year-old twins, daughter Kali and son Kalii.

Lillard, 33, reflected on life’s changes and challenges in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports.

“We all have stuff we really care about, near and dear to our heart. I’m happy I’m a stable person, I got solid people around me,” he said.

“It’s probably been the hardest transition in my life, all things considered.”

Lillard is coming off an epic performance in Sunday’s All-Star Game, tallying 39 points and 11 three-pointers in the Eastern Conference’s 211-186 victory over the West.

The 6-foot-2 guard also made history this weekend by becoming the second NBA player to win an All-Star event Saturday followed by MVP honors in the game.

Michael Jordan won an All-Star contest and the MVP trophy in the same weekend in 1988.

Lillard is averaging 24.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this season, with the Bucks currently third in the East at 35-21.
