How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry betray late Queen Elizabeth with their Sussex.com website
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new website bearing their royal titles is being seen as a betrayal to the late Queen Elizabeth.
The site shows disloyalty to an agreement the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seemingly made with the monarch, who died in September 2022.
Newly minted Sussex.com features bios for Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, as well as the “Suits” actor’s coat of arms.
However, the Invictus Games founder’s seal was not shown on the website.
The “provocative” decision to name their site after their titles will prove to be a “big challenge” for Buckingham Palace, an insider told Daily Mail.
The source added that when the couple stepped back as senior members of the Firm in 2020, they assured Elizabeth that they would not use their status as royals for financial gain.
This duplicity is being seen as breeching the agreement, “if not in letter, certainly in spirit.”
“Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name,” one insider chimed in.
“Buckingham Palace may have its hands tied in taking action,” another source noted. “[King Charles] has other things he needs to focus on at the moment, and the last thing His Majesty needs is another fight with his son. But this won’t go down well at all.”
It was announced earlier this month that Charles, 75, was diagnosed with cancer, and he is currently undergoing treatment for his illness.
According to the eyewitnesses, the Firm must determine if it should take action against the Sussexes or “let it slide.”
Sussex.com was previously SussexRoyal.com, which had been put on hiatus since their exit.
“Basically their big rebrand puts being royal first,” an insider stated. “Ultimately, this is a rebranding for Meghan.”
“They just can’t quite bring themselves to drop all the trappings that come courtesy of the institution they spend their whole time moaning about.”
In the past, Harry and Meghan have opened up about their lives while being in the Windsor clan, claiming that certain members were racist regarding their son Archie, now 4, in a 2021 tell-all with Oprah Winfrey.
A separate insider alleged that the rebrand is “hugely problematic and a real headache” for Buckingham Palace’s the Lord Chamberlain’s Office.
The Lord Chamberlain is the most senior official household at the palace and is in charge of solving conflicts surrounding protocol. The entity also organizes ceremonies such as garden parties, state visits and weddings.
The source then forewarned that using their titles and Meghan’s coat of arms for strictly profit-oriented motives could allow for the palace to protest.
“They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title, and if there is any hint of commercialism about this, it will be shut down. It’s just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is,” the insider added.
