Kate Middleton ‘worried’ for Prince William as he returns to work after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis: expert

Kate Middleton is said to be “worried” about her husband, Prince William, after he was forced to make a sudden return to royal duties following his father’s cancer diagnosis.

The Prince of Wales, 41, returned to royal duties Wednesday morning to host an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he handed out more than 50 honors on behalf of King Charles.

With his ailing father out of action as he undergoes cancer treatment, William’s wife, too, remains out of the royal fold as she continues to recover from last month’s abdominal surgery.

According to royal expert and author Christopher Andersen, the Princess of Wales is concerned over her husband’s workload, given the circumstances.

“Kate is worried about the psychic toll these twin medical battles are having on her husband,” Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News.

“William is terribly concerned about Kate’s condition — we still don’t know what her abdominal surgery was for or why her recovery is taking months — and now he has to face the fact that his father has cancer,” he told the outlet.

“William has always made it clear that he wanted a full-fledged family life, and when Kate became incapacitated, he stepped in to play hands-on dad. He cut back on his schedule to drive the kids to school, the whole nine yards.”

“Now he has resumed his royal duties much sooner than perhaps he would have liked,” Andersen went on, adding, “But there are times when duty trumps family life and, after all, William is the future king.”

The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.

At Wednesday’s royal event, William shared how his wife, 42, has been getting on behind closed doors.

According to Patricia Spruce, one of the people honored by the prince at the soiree, William said that Middleton has “two Filipino nurses looking after her and they were amazing and kind.”

At the event, the heir to the throne addressed photographers for the first time since Buckingham Palace announced his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Inside at the podium, William added, “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you also for the kind messages of support for Catherine and my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”

“The past few weeks have a rather medical focus, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all,” he quipped.

Middleton, for her part, has remained at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, where she will continue recovering until after Easter.

Middleton’s concerns over her husband come hot on the heels of his estranged brother’s blink-and-you-miss-it trip to London.

Just 24 hours after landing on home soil Tuesday — less than an hour of which was spent with his father — Harry was already en route back to Montecito, Calif., to be reunited with Markle and their two children.

It’s believed that the Duke of Sussex, 39, did not see William during his quick stint in England, nor his sister-in-law Middleton.

Just one day after returning home, Harry was already on his way to Las Vegas, where he presented the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers star Cameron Heyward at Thursday’s NFL Honors ceremony.
