Garrett Wilson praises ‘right people’ on Jets’ coaching staff: ‘Never been a doubt’

LAS VEGAS — Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson gave the team’s coaching staff a vote of confidence on Thursday.

Wilson, who is making the media rounds at the Super Bowl, said he believes the Jets have the right people in place despite a recent article by The Athletic that was highly critical of the coaching staff.

“There’s never been a doubt for me,” Wilson told The Post. “We’ve got the right people in the facility. That’s how everyone in the facility feels. I didn’t read into that article too much but the people that are going to be there when we all report back are the ones that matter. We’re all locked in on this goal that we have. Like I said, we have the right people in the facility and we’re going to go out and prove it to the world. A lot gets taken care of when you start winning games. That’s the goal.”

Wilson is coming off an impressive second season in the NFL.

He went over 1,000 yards receiving again despite playing with four different quarterbacks.

Wilson did not get to catch a pass from Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon four plays into the season.

Wilson knows that a healthy Rodgers can give the offense a major boost.

“There’s a lot that comes with having Aaron and it is all positive,” Wilson said. “You’re automatically a team that can do things on offense that other teams can’t. It makes a lot of people’s lives easier. I can’t say I’m exactly 100 percent sure yet. I’m excited to see what it’s like on the field.”

Wilson was promoting Courtyard by Marriott’s “Ultimate Upgrade” on Thursday.

The hotel turned a suite at Allegiant Stadium into a hotel room overlooking the field and two winners will spend Saturday night in the room and then get to watch the Super Bowl.

Wilson, who dealt with a painful elbow injury for the final two months of the season, said he mainly has been recuperating since the season ended while also staying in shape.

He will resume football activities in March.

As for the team’s offseason, Wilson reiterated the Jets are not far away.

“I feel like there’s a few things that all of us are thinking as far as adding the right weapons on offense and the right things to protect and see where we’re at,” Wilson said. “We feel like we’re so close. We’re not exactly going into the offseason desperate or anything.

“We definitely know what we need and that’s a good thing to feel that we know exactly what we need. Let’s go get it. Let’s take the right steps this offseason and be a better team this year.”

Personally, Wilson said he still has room to improve after catching 95 passes for 1,042 yards last season.

“You reflect and you look back at how you stacked up. I still feel like I have a long way to go. I’m excited to take the right steps and have the opportunity to go back out there and play football next season.”
