Something is Brewin with Gary Sanchez.
The former Yankees and Mets catcher signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Brewers on Wednesday, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported.
The contract includes an option for 2025.
Milwaukee already has reigning Silver Slugger winner William Contreras behind the plate and the addition of Sanchez gives them another option there that also can be used as a designated hitter.
Sanchez bounced around a bit last season, starting the 2023 campaign with the Giants organization and playing 16 games for Triple-A Sacramento and then signing with the Mets in May after being released.
He played three games for the Mets before finally finding his spot with the Padres, appearing in 72 games and hitting .218 with 19 home runs and 46 RBIs.
A wrist fracture in early September cut his season short, but he has shown positive signs over the past two seasons with a +7 Defensive Runs Saved mark in 2023 behind the plate.
Sanchez, 31, spent the first seven years of his career in The Bronx with the Yankees after making his major league debut in 2015.
He finished the 2016 season in second place in AL Rookie of the Year voting after slashing .299/.376/.657 and hitting 20 home runs in 53 games.
Sanchez made two MLB All-Star teams — in 2017 and 2019 — during his time with the Yankees and won the Silver Slugger Award in 2017.
The Yankees traded Sanchez in the spring of 2022 to the Twins in a deal that sent Gio Urshela to Minnesota for Josh Donaldson, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ben Rortvedt.
The Brewers have been busy recently, trading away ace Corbin Burnes to the Orioles last Thursday and signing first baseman Rhys Hoskins to a two-year deal.
Milwaukee is coming off a 92-70 season in which they lost to the Diamondbacks in the NL wild-card round.
