Killer Mike speaks out, places blame after Grammys arrest

Killer Mike says he has the “upmost confidence” he’ll be “cleared of all wrongdoing” over his arrest at the Grammy Awards — blaming it all on “an over-zealous security guard.”

The Atlanta-based rapper, born Michael Render, was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly knocking down a security guard who did not get out of his way in the rain outside Cyrpto.com Arena.

The arrest came just after the 48-year-old picked up three Grammys in key rap categories — performance, song (“Scientists & Engineers”) and album (“Michael.”)

The MC claimed the fracas started from “confusion around which door my team and I should enter” during the chaos of the award ceremony.

“We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing,” he said.

The Run The Jewels rapper also noted in the statement that he was doing “better than OK” and was “incredibly proud” of his Grammys — his first since 2003.

He also shared that he learned on Monday that his son “finally” found a match for a kidney transplant.

A source told People Magazine that the artist was “confident that the facts of the case, when laid bare, will show that Mike did not commit the alleged offense, and he will be exonerated.”

He also thanked wife Shay for holding him “down through thick and thin.”

“I couldn’t be prouder to be your husband and share this award with you,” he said alongside a photo of her kissing his cheek at the ceremony.
