Taylor Swift announces 11th studio album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ at Grammys — when does it drop?

The time that Taylor Swift fans have been waiting for has finally arrived.

At the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 4, the singer, 34, announced her next record will be titled “The Tortured Poets Department.”

While accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights,” Swift said the album would be released on April 19.

The win marked her 13th Grammy win.

At the conclusion of her speech, she laughed and said she would be going backstage to post the album’s cover on her website.

The black-and-white image featured Swift laying sensually on a white-sheet-covered bed while wearing shorts and a crop top.

The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer attended the show solo — without boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Fans initially thought that during the awards show she would be announcing the release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” sometime soon.

“Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” would be Swift’s fifth re-recorded album.

The OG album was released in 2017.

Since 2021, Swift has dropped new versions of her records, such as “Fearless,” “Red,” “Speak Now” and “1989.”

In 2019, the “Cats” actress was embroiled in a dispute over ownership of her back catalog released by Big Machine Records.

The label owned the masters of her first six studio albums.

This inspired her decision to re-record her records and thereby regain full possession of her work and music.

“Reputation” was full of hits, such as “Look What You Made Me Do,” Delicate,” “End Game” and “Getaway Car.”

Fans began to speculate that the Grammys ceremony would mark the announcement of the re-recorded “Reputation” after Swift switched her social media profile pictures to black and white images earlier this week.

The monochrome evoked her “Reputation” record’s cover.
