How toxic is your relationship? Take this scientific quiz and find out

Do you know that you’re toxic?

A new scientific test released online claims to be able to grade your relationship on a scale of sheer heaven to pure hell — and the results could leave some couples reeling.

Recognizing that being in a relationship doesn’t always make us the best judge of its health, a team of pros have put together a series of questions designed to coax the real truth from even the most loathe-to-rock-the-boat lovers, presenting them with a set of facts designed to show them exactly what they’re doing wrong — or right.

The Healthy Relationship Test was developed by IDR Labs, which has put together a series of personality tests and quizzes, The Mirror first reported.

According to the creators, “no relationship is perfect and occasional challenges are normal.”

However, they say, “iin a healthy relationship, both partners are committed to working together to overcome difficulties and maintain a loving, respectful, and fulfilling connection”

Absent that, you’ve got yourself a stinker — run far, run fast.

The test — which you can access here, free of charge — is made up of 40 statements, with which you’re asked to agree or disagree. Statements include, “We handle our conflicts in an assertive and respectful way,” as well as “We support each other’s individual growth and improvement.”

After you’ve responded to each of the statements, and it won’t take long, you’ll be shown a chart with words like Intimacy, Boundaries, Empathy and Communication, with your results added — revealing just how strong you are in each of these areas.

Maybe you’re great at Intimacy, but terrible at Teamwork? Well, you’ll know now.

The final nail in the coffin — or, maybe it’s good news, that’s possible, right? — is your overall score, which will tell you just how bad (or good) things are.

Importantly, this isn’t meant to be replacement for, say, marriage counseling, or any other type of “professional assessment.” But it could provoke some serious bedtime conversation. (Let’s hope you scored well on Communication!)

The publishers of the test explained: “As the publishers of this free test, which allows you to screen your relationship for the characteristics of each healthy relationship element, we have strived to make the test as reliable and valid as possible by subjecting this test to statistical controls and validation. However, free online quizzes such as the present test do not provide professional assessments or recommendations of any kind; the test is provided entirely ‘as-is’.”
