Commanders’ Jahan Dotson recruits Micah Parsons after Dan Quinn hire

A coaching hire in Washington had Commanders’ wide receiver Jahan Dotson trying to recruit Cowboys star Micah Parsons on social media on Thursday, leading Parson’s to respond with a post of his own on X.

It all started after the Commanders confirmed they had a verbal agreement with Dan Quinn to become the team’s next head coach

Attempting to seize on the momentum, Dotson posted a screenshot of a comment Parsons had said earlier in the year that the now-former Cowboys defensive coordinator “might take me with him.”

”We welcome you with open arms brotha,” Dotson captioned the post on X, while tagging Parsons and adding a laughing emoji.

Parsons responded to the post several hours later with a lion head emoji and an image of himself sacking Commanders quarterback Sam Howell.

The pair had played together in college at Penn State, but as for a reunion in the nation’s capital, that doesn’t seem to be too real of a possibility at the moment.

Parson’s still has another year left on his contract with the Cowboys and a fifth-year team option, which Dallas is likely to pick up.

A contract extension could also be a possibility before the team option even comes into play.

However, the Cowboys linebacker had no problem criticizing the team’s front office on Thursday on his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”

His message was direct and clear.

“They’re talking about we’re going all-in this year and that’s what I would hope for … I hope that we go all-in and I hope we go out and get the players we’re missing because we didn’t do that this year,” he said. “I hope that we challenge ourselves, become better and become greater for us.”

The Cowboys were bounced from the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round despite recording 12 wins for the third consecutive season.

Parson’s described the loss as “completely embarrassing” during his show and said that he had to take time to “even show my face in the public.”
