Elijah Allman’s wife slams ‘manic depressive’ Cher as unfit to serve as conservator: She doesn’t even ‘dress herself’

Cher’s daughter-in-law, Marieangela King, claimed that the singer is unfit to serve as the conservator for her son, Elijah Allman, due to the hitmaker’s alleged admission that she is a “manic depressive.”

According to documents obtained by The Post, King claimed that the Grammy winner’s attempts to control the life of Allman, 47, would seriously “jeopardize” his ongoing recovery.

“[Cher] is not capable of managing her own affairs — let alone those of Elijah,” King, 36, stated in the document. “To my knowledge, the petitioner has never known the security code to her own home, does not drive, does not prepare her own meals or dress herself, and has admitted to me that she is a ‘manic depressive.’ ”

King further alleged that Cher’s personal assistant, Jennifer Ruiz, has taken over managing the affairs of the “Believe” singer and would aim to do the same to her husband if given the chance.

King believes that Allman does not need a conservator, but if the court appoints one, it “should not be [Cher].”

The Post reached out to the “Moonstruck” actress for comment.

In a separate statement, Allman refuted the need for a conservatorship.

“I could have demanded that my mandatory distributions be made to me directly as required by the trust, but I did not do so,” he wrote, referring to the trust fund left to him by his late father, Gregory Allman.

According to the musician, he voluntarily submitted to random drug testing three times — all of which have returned a negative result — this month to prove that he has been living a sober lifestyle and has been clean from “illicit substances” since October 2023. He’s also been “successfully managing” his finances.

Cher, 77, filed for the conservatorship in December, and later claimed that her son was allegedly missing.

“[Cher] is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” January court docs read.

Cher also claimed that King would “take steps to prevent” Allman from learning about the initial conservatorship hearing that took place on Jan. 5.

Allman later appeared at the hearing with King, who alleged in a 2022 divorce filing that Cher allegedly hired four men to kidnap Allman from a New York City hotel room in an apparent intervention a month prior.

“I have always been a champion for the sober community and for Elijah’s sobriety . . . What I am not OK with are establishments that exclude me (his wife) from being part of Elijah’s treatment and hopeful recovery,” King told Page Six. “I am not OK with pop-up, makeshift, unethical scam rehabs which take full advantage of families in desperate situations and seek to fraudulently exploit insurance companies for services not rendered.”

A second hearing has reportedly been scheduled for Jan. 29.
