Buccaneers vs. Lions pick: NFL divisional round predictions, odds

The Lions won their first playoff game in more than 30 years last Sunday by holding off the Rams, 24-23 to advance to the divisional round.

The Lions are back at Ford Field on Sunday afternoon to host the Buccaneers, who are playing with house money after eliminating last season’s NFC champion Eagles in the wild-card round.

Starting with the Lions, they captured the NFC North title with a 12-5 record for their first division championship since 1993.

Quarterback Jared Goff led Detroit past his old team in the wild-card round in Sunday night’s one-point victory.

Goff threw for 277 yards and a touchdown as the Lions won in spite of scoring just three points in the second half.

The Buccaneers lost quarterback Tom Brady to retirement in the offseason but found a way to win their third straight NFC South title behind veteran Baker Mayfield.

Tampa Bay finished 9-8 and knocked out Philadelphia with a convincing 32-9 rout as three-point underdogs.

The Bucs have been on fire since the start of December, winning six of their past seven games, including a perfect 3-0 mark away from Raymond James Stadium.

Detroit defeated Tampa Bay in Week 6 as three-point road favorites, 20-6.

Goff torched the Tampa Bay defense for 353 yards and two touchdown passes, and the Detroit defense limited the Bucs to a pair of field goals.

It’s hard to ignore Tampa Bay’s 8-1 record against the spread in road games this season, which included five outright victories.

Let’s take the points with the Buccaneers in Sunday’s divisional game to cover against the Lions.

The play: Buccaneers +6.
