Paul Bissonnette and Butch Goring just can’t stop going at each other.
The two traded their latest set of barbs Saturday to continue their longstanding war of words in recent weeks.
“You are absolutely correct, I am a senior citizen,” Goring, who played an integral role on the Islanders’ four Stanley Cup teams, posted on X while tagging Bissonnette. “I do not wear diapers, I would rather s–t all over you.”
Bissonnette, a TNT analyst and host on the “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast, responded.
“Maybe when you get your ball bag out of the mason jar in Lou’s office you can come on the podcast and say it to my face,” Bissonnette posted on X. “Does he make you puppets shave those too? I know he likes the control Butchy boy.”
Earlier this month, Bissonnette ripped Islanders fans for booing John Tavares when he reached 1,000 career points while playing with the Maple Leafs against the Islanders.
Tavares started his career with the Islanders in 2009 and later signed with the Maple Leafs in 2018.
“Why don’t you show up at the UBS, then they can boo a clown with Zero points,” Goring said to Bissonnette.
That’s when Bissonnette said he’s “declaring war on the Islanders.”
Last week, Bissonnette extended a literal olive branch to the Islanders while on TNT’s pregame show prior to the team’s 3-2 loss to the Capitals.
Bissonnette even said that the Islanders, whom he previously called boring, had turned things around and had been more exciting in recent games.
Goring didn’t accept the olive branch.
“There is not one Islander fan who cares about your feelings or apologies,” Goring posted on X. “A couple of loses [sic] by the Isles and you will jump off the bandwagon.”
Bissonnette fired right back.
“The geezer is firing tonight,” Bissonnette posted on X. “TNT should bring you in for a demo to show the fans how to put dentures & diapers on you old fart.”
