Adoree’ Jackson ‘dreamed’ of first career pick-six: ‘God is good’

Several as a high school player. Only one in three years in college at USC. None in his first six full NFL seasons and none in the first 11 games of his seventh year in the league.

That is why Adoree’ Jackson was so jacked up about the first pick-six of his career, taking an interception of Jalen Hurts 76 yards for a touchdown in last week’s 33-25 loss to the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

“It’s a trip,’’ Jackson told The Post.

Jackson jumped a route along the sideline in the third quarter and took advantage of a slip by tight end Dallas Goedert to pluck the ball out of the air and take off along the right sideline.

Jackson is known for his speed and he had to outrun Hurts, who cut down the angle in pursuit.

Hurts hauled down Jackson as he raced into the end zone and was called for a penalty for a horse collar tackle.

“That’s why I kept looking at Hurts because I knew I had nothing in the tank and the way he was moving, he was gaining more ground than me,” Jackson said.

“I was telling my lady it was just surreal. There was no feeling other than, ‘God is good.’ That’s why I didn’t have a celebration, I just dropped to my knees and was super thankful. I’ve dreamed of having a pick-six. Seven years later I get my first one, which was on Christmas. I took it like, man, God just be showing up. You don’t know when, where and how but when he do, you’ll know it.’’

Jackson, 28, is finishing up the three-year, $39 million contract he signed with the Giants prior to the 2021 season after spending his first four NFL years with the Titans.

Jackson is not expected to return to the Giants, making these last two games, against Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua from the Rams on Sunday and A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith of the Eagles in the season finale, most likely his final challenges with the Giants.

Second-year CB Cor’Dale Flott has manned the slot corner spot for several games with mixed results. Some of the NFL’s best wide receivers spend time in the slot, and Kupp is one of them.

He has been beset by injuries to his lower body this season and his production — 55 catches for 710 yards and four touchdowns — is down. At 6-foot-2 and 208 pounds, he figures to be a physical challenge for Flott.

Rookie CB Deonte Banks has started all 15 games, an impressive show of durability in his first NFL season. He is listed as questionable to play vs. the Rams with a shoulder issue. WR Wan’Dale Robinson (quad) is also questionable.

Nacua needs nine more catches to pass Jaylen Waddle (104) for most receptions by a rookie in NFL history. … If DT Aaron Donald gets two tackles for loss in this game, he passes Julius Peppers for third-most all time in NFL history. … Chase Blackburn, an inside linebacker and core special teams player on the Giants’ Super Bowl 42 and Super Bowl 46 championship teams, is the Rams’ special teams coordinator.

The season is over for TE Lawrence Cager as he was put on injured reserve. LB Darrian Beavers was signed from the practice squad and the 2022 sixth round pick — who tore his ACL in a preseason game as a rookie with the Giants — could make his NFL debut vs. the Rams. K Mason Crosby and WR Dennis Houston were activated from the practice squad.
