Knicks fans left bitter over blockbuster deal with Raptors: ‘This sucks’

The Knicks and Raptors gave fans huge news on Saturday morning with their blockbuster trade, and not everyone was happy about it.

In the deal, the Knicks are acquiring OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and a second-round draft pick, The Post’s Stefan Bondy confirmed.

Quickley, who posted on X that he seemingly was stunned, appeared to have a similar reaction to Knicks fans about the deal.

“Knicks going to regret trading you,” wrote one person in response to Quickley’s X post, citing his stats while playing on the court for New York.

“This sucks bro. Makes 0 sense,” wrote another Knicks fan in the replies.

In 30 games this year, Quickley was averaging a career-best 15 points per game along with 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

He also shot 39.5 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

With his solid play, Knicks fans on social media seemed somewhat despondent over his departure.

“We’re gonna miss you man,” wrote another account.

While Barrett has remained quiet on social media since the news of the trade broke, fans did replay to his last re-share on X.

“You gon ball out back in the 6,” wrote one fan, referencing Barrett going back home to Toronto.

“Thank you,” another user wrote succinctly.

While some fans wanted to thank the two for their times in New York, others seemed to think the Knicks lost the trade on first view.

“What a terrible trade for the Knicks,” wrote one user in reply to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who first broke the news.

While the Knicks are giving up fan favorites in Barrett and Quickley, the team is getting a strong defender in Anunoby, who led the league in steals per game last year.

This season, he’s averaging 15.1 points a night and 3.9 rebounds.
