Giants have another twist at kicker, add former Packer Mason Crosby

The Giants have another change in store at the kicking position ahead of their Christmas showdown with the Eagles.

With Cade York headed to the practice squad IR after suffering a leg injury in practice this week, the Giants signed veteran Mason Crosby to the practice squad, according to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Crosby, 39, is expected to be elevated to the active roster for Monday’s game.

The Giants have been playing musical chairs at the position throughout the season, and earlier this week, before adding Crosby, it was apparent that the Giants needed another new kicker.

Randy Bullock, who was looked to after Graham Gano went down with a knee injury, strained his hamstring in the first quarter of the Giants’ 24-6 loss to the Saints last weekend.

“He’s not great,’’ Daboll said of Bullock after the game. “So that’s something we’ll work through here and see where he is.

“But I’m not expecting him to be ready.’’

As a result, York, who was added to the team in early November but did not appear in any games, was expected to make his Giants debut against the rival Eagles.

But now, Crosby will be the one making his Big Blue debut on Monday.

Crosby, now in his 17th year in the league, spent the first 16 seasons of his NFL career with Green Bay (2007-22) after being taken in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Colorado.

In his career, he has made 395 field goals out of 485 attempts for a success rate of 81.4 percent.

He’s gone 43 of 78 on kicks of 50 yards or more and brings a 97.3 percent extra-point percentage.

While the Giants (5-9_ have had their playoff hopes all but squashed, the Eagles (10-4) are still eyeing the division title in a close race with the Cowboys.
