Tommy DeVito’s agent issues challenge to Peyton Manning after ‘slimy’ nickname

Tommy DeVito’s agent Sean Stellato heard the Manning brothers say that his nickname was “slimy” and has responded by challenging Peyton to a foot race.

On Monday night’s ESPN2 “Manningcast” NFL simulcast, Eli Manning said that he got some “intel from my boys” that Stellato’s nickname was “slimy” in college.

Peyton Manning laughed and said the nickname was “perfect” for the agent, who was dressed to the nines in a pinstripe suit and an old-time black hat for his client’s primetime game against the Packers.

Stellato joined WFAN’s “Boomer & Gio” on Tuesday morning, and if “slimy” was indeed his nickname in his school days then it was seemingly unbeknownst to him.

“I don’t know if that’s just him being a southern dude. I look at it as elegant,” Stellato said in response to the Manning brothers, who grew up in New Orleans.

“I don’t know where ‘slimy’ comes from…but if Peyton wants to challenge me in a 40-yard dash, I’m more than happy to do that.”

Boomer Esiason followed up and said that Eli Manning had mentioned that “slimy” was Stellato’s nickname in college.

“I never heard that nickname in my life,” Stellato said. “My legal team has been all over me. Just kidding.”

Stellato continued to say that as an agent he has a great relationship with all 32 teams in the NFL, and reiterated that he didn’t know where the nickname came from.

“It is what it is. I think he might watch too much ‘Goodfellas,’” Stellato said.

Stellato, 45, went to Marist University in Poughkeepsie, NY.

As for Stellato’s client, DeVito led a game-winning field goal drive to upset the Packers in the final moments of the game and is becoming something of a folk hero in the tri-state area as delis in his New Jersey neighborhood are flooded with chicken cutlet orders.

It’s fair to say he is basking in the adulation of being the Giants starting quarterback during a winning streak.

“You enjoy it when it’s an outcome like this, right?” DeVito said after Monday night’s win. “I enjoy being on the field any play, no matter what play it is.”
