Myles Garrett eviscerates ‘awful’ refs after Browns’ win: ‘Travesty’

You can only imagine how mad Myles Garrett would have been had the Browns lost, but the superstar pass rusher took down the referees after Sunday’s key victory over the Jaguars.

“The officiating was a travesty today… It was honestly awful,” Garrett told reporters in Cleveland. “Respect to those, they have a hard job, but we have a hard job, as well.”

Garrett, a four-time Pro Bowler with 13 sacks this season, mostly seemed to be complaining about holds and hands-to-the-face fouls against him that were not called in Sunday’s victory.

He also said that his shoulder looked like he’d been “scratched by a couple of wild feral cats” by the Jacksonville offensive line.

“I got a lot of respect for those guys, but we get scrutinized for the plays we don’t make, and someone has to hold them accountable for the calls they don’t make,” Garrett added. “They need to be under the same microscope as we are every single play.”

The Browns improved to 8-5 with Sunday’s win, with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco throwing for 311 yards and three touchdowns in place of injured starter Deshaun Watson and benched rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game that the 38-year-old Flacco will be the starter for the rest of the season.
