Accused Marvel star Jonathan Majors pleaded with ex not to see doctor after head injury in previous incident: texts

Marvel star Jonathan Majors urged his then-girlfriend to avoid the hospital after an incident between them last year left her with a head injury, texts revealed Friday at his Manhattan domestic violence trial.

In a twist, the potentially damning texts might have never surfaced had it not been for the “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” actor’s own lawyers — who “opened the door” to them when previously grilling Majors’ accuser, Grace Jabbari, the judge said.

Majors, 34, wrote to Jabbari, 30, in messages shown to jurors in Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday about last year’s incident, telling her, “I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go the hospital.”

“They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie and they suspect something,” the “Creed III” actor said.

Jabbari responded to the “Loki” star in the Sept. 22, 2022, text thread that she would “tell the doctor I bumped my head,” trial evidence showed.

“Why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you?” the British dancer and movement coach said.

“I will not go to the doctor if you don’t feel safe with me doing so,” she allegedly added.

Jabbari, dressed in a black button-down shirt and black slacks, was asked on the stand by prosecutors if Majors had tried to “dissuade” her from getting medical attention after the 2022 London episode — which she said left her with a head injury and unable to sleep.

“Yes,” she said during her fourth and final day of testimony.

The incident is separate from the March encounter in which Majors allegedly assaulted Jabbari in a hired car on the Manhattan Bridge after she found out he’d been cheating on her.

Details about the earlier incident that led to the text exchange were not disclosed in court.

But the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said in October that it had turned over a copy of a London police report from a September 2022 episode to Majors’ lawyers and had sought medical records from the incident.

The court had previously ordered the texts to be shielded from the public.

But Judge Michael Gaffey found Friday that the prosecution could disclose them because Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, had tried to “impugn” Jabbari’s character while grilling her Thursday about why she gave vague answers to police at first about the alleged March assault.

During a seven-hour cross-examination, Chaudhry also pressed Jabbari on details from the night of the altercation, as footage showed her later downing shots at a club, dancing and ordering champagne without appearing to favor the right middle finger she claimed was broken by Majors at the time.

Majors has pleaded not guilty and maintained that Jabbari was the aggressor in the altercation.

Later in the text thread released Friday, Majors accuses Jabbari of not being “full of love” that September 2022 morning and threatens to take his own life.

“They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to an investigation even if you do lie and they suspect something,” the “Creed III” actor said. BRIGITTE STELZER

“You could’ve given me a hug and walked close to me,” he wrote.

“I’m a monster, a horrible man, not capable of love,” he added in another text.

“I want to die. And I should just kill myself. This way of existence is miserable.”

After three grueling days of testimony from Jabbari that started Tuesday, prosecutors Friday questioned her for just around 15 minutes in the morning.

They next called Holly Blakey, a London-based choreographer and close friend of Jabbari’s who testified that the “traumatized” dancer called her hours after the alleged March assault.

“She sounded like I’ve never heard her before, quite quiet, quite wrecked,” Blakey testified.

“She’s danced with bad injuries, a broken rib … so in a way it was just an entirely different emotional landscape,” Blakey added.

“She sounded like a very broken and traumatized person.”

Majors’ trial is expected to last several weeks, and it was not yet clear as of Friday afternoon whether he’ll testify in his own defense.

Before his arrest, Majors had been slated to serve as supervillain Kang and Conqueror in at least two yet-to-be-released Marvel films.
