Singer tries to show off pole dancing — but falls flat on face: ‘One of the biggest scares of my life’
She tried to work the pole — but it worked her.
Clad in a cheeky romper and sky-high clear platform shoes, Peruvian performer Leslie Shaw was hoping to show off her expert pole-dancing skills in a video for her fans. But while she’s adept at pole twirling, it seems she’s not a master of carpentry.
The buxom blonde, who is a star in Lima, was practicing a leg-wrap dangling stunt at home on Dec. 4 using her self-installed pole when it came crashing down, causing her to fall face-first into her wood flooring.
As salsa music blared, the video rolled on as the 34-year-old singer lay on the ground atop the steel pole, screaming in pain.
But despite her agony, Shaw, who has 3.3 million Instagram followers, managed to flip her hair and adjust her camera so that she could continue to film herself writhing on the floor, begging for help.
“On Monday night I had one of the biggest scares of my life, as every afternoon I always dance on the pole that I have in my living room,” she wrote in a post that garnered 83,000 likes in just one day.
“After having been spinning for a few minutes, I start a new recording and taking a turn I fell,” she added. “The pain in my right shoulder and arm was intense.”
Eventually, someone arrived on the scene to help, having learned the pole bracket was not installed into the ceiling properly apparently.
In another clip, Shaw had an onlooker film her being lifted by paramedics onto a stretcher as she pointed to an injury on her right arm.
The footage then cuts to her in a neck brace being wheeled around a medical facility for treatment.
According to local media, Shaw was not seriously injured and is recovering at home.
While some fans rushed to her support, calling her “unstoppable” and strong, others criticized her for filming the horrifying ordeal.
“Lying on the floor in pain and turning her cell phone so they can see how it hurts,” one wrote.
“The funniest thing is that in all your moment of pain, you took the time to move your cell phone so that it could focus on you well,” added another.
