Colorado vs. UCLA prediction: College football Week 9 picks, odds, best bets

The nationwide excitement for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes has waned a bit since a 3-0 start, but that doesn’t mean betting interest has subsided.

Despite a reversal of fortunes over the last five weeks, the public continues to be on the Buffs’ side as they travel to UCLA on Saturday for a Pac-12 showdown with the Bruins.

Colorado has been off since squandering a 29-0 halftime lead two weeks ago in a double-overtime, 46-43 defeat to Stanford as a 13-point favorite.

The Buffaloes are 1-3 in Pac-12 college football play, with the lone win coming by three points on the road at Arizona State.

UCLA has been up and down in conference action at 2-2, but is coming off a 42-7 blowout victory at Stanford last week.

The Bruins have allowed 17 points or less in six of seven games this season, while covering the spread in three of four opportunities as a double-digit favorite.

Coach Prime’s squad is listed as an underdog for the fourth time this season, and the Buffaloes have covered twice in such games — their opening week win at TCU and a backdoor cover in a home loss to USC.

UCLA, favored by 17 in this matchup, has ripped Colorado each of the past two seasons, beating the Buffs, 44-20, at home in 2021, followed by a 45-17 rout in Boulder last season.

The Buffs can move the ball up and down the field, but defensively they have struggled.

This will be the best defense Colorado has seen this season.

The Bruins are 5-2 to the Under, including a 3-1 Under mark against Pac-12 opponents.

It’s hard to ignore how well UCLA’s defense has played, and this game should stay Under the total Saturday.
