Phillies fan leveled with vicious clothesline before NLCS Game 7

One security official provided a harder hit than about any Phillies player Tuesday night.

As a fan ran away from what appeared to be officers on horses, a parking lot security staffer delivered a clothesline to the unsuspecting fan that should land the individual a contract offer form either Vince McMahon and WWE or Howie Roseman and the Eagles.

The video, posted by Instagram user @Jackgorham, does not have context but appears to have been posted before first pitch.

The clip starts with a fan running away from officers on horses in one of the parking lots outside of Citizens Bank Park.

What sounds like a young girl asks: “Why are they chasing him?”

“Stay by the car, kid” the user responded.

The fan cuts through the lot and away from the officers, but that’s when this security guard pulled his best John Bradshaw Layfield impression.

“Ohhhhhh, got him” the poster yelled after the hit. “Damn.”

The yellow jacket-wearing official blindsides the fan from his right side with a vicious clothesline that de-cleats the individual.

The fan attempts to get up but is held down by what appears to be a fellow fan in a red shirt while the officers on horses trot over.

In perhaps fitting fashion, the narrator offered these final remarks.

“The cavalry’s here,” he said as the horses arrived. “Game 7, go Phils.”

Unfortunately for the fan and the Phillies, the rest of the night did not go any better for the other citizens of Philadelphia with the Phillies being eliminated in a 4-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Phillies had not lost at home this postseason entering Game 6, but dropped both games to the Diamondbacks to fall one game short of returning to the World Series.

Philadelphia mustered just five hits, including just one in the final five innings as the Diamondbacks’ relievers did not allow a run.
