Brady Quinn in epic Twitter feud with Deshaun Watson’s trainer

Fox Sports analyst and former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn got into a heated back-and-forth with Deshaun Watson’s trainer and appeared to take a shot at the Browns’ signal caller over past allegations of sexual misconduct.

Quincy Avery, who also co-hosts the “QB Unplugged” podcast with Watson, called out Quinn on X for being critical of Watson for exiting Sunday’s game against the Colts.

“Everyone with a medical opinion has cleared Deshaun Watson,” Quinn said recently on Fox Sports Radio, noting the quarterback’s five-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $230 million. “The situation is almost similar to a kid getting a $230 million trust fund. You ask them to get a job and they have no incentive to do it.”

Avery reposted a clip of Quinn’s comments on Fox Sports Radio and called it “high school” behavior.

“Brady, I’m a be real,” Avery wrote. “You don’t know what the f–k you are talking bout and sit behind a microphone gossiping like a little high school chick.”

Quinn offered an “open invitation” to “come talk anytime you want in person” in a reply post.

Avery then called Quinn “weak” and claimed the two crossed paths recently.

“I just seen you Saturday,” he wrote. “I don’t have anything I want to talk to you about.

“I’m telling you you are talking about things you don’t know. Talking on another man who doesn’t know you is weak.”

Avery added, “point being?” when Quinn claimed he didn’t see him.

“How about we massage this conversation and get it to a happy ending?” Quinn wrote, seemingly referring to the past allegations of sexual misconduct against Watson, including several massage therapists.

“Does that sound satisfactory?”

Avery reposted Quinn’s message and wrote: “This the joke you was dying to let fly? We can table the convo until I see you in person.”

Quinn has yet to publicly respond, and neither has Watson.

Watson was suspended for 11 games during the 2022 season, fined $5 million and required to participate in a treatment program following the allegations.

Watson, who is dealing with a lingering shoulder injury, left in the first quarter and did not return after he appeared to hit his head on the turf following an incomplete pass in Sunday’s game.

He was cleared after undergoing an evaluation for a concussion, but head coach Kevin Stefanski kept him sidelined out of precaution.

“I just did not want to put him back out there,” Stefanski said after the Browns’ 39-38 win. “I wanted to protect our franchise quarterback.”

Watson, who had missed the previous two games, explained that he understood the decision and praised backup PJ Walker for finishing the game.

“I want to go out there and try to help the team as much as possible. Go out there and play and perform and compete,” Watson said.

“The decision was best for the team. They felt that was the best. PJ [Walker] did a great job of finishing the game.”

Stefanski said Watson will be the starter in Week 8 when the Browns visit the Seahawks on Oct. 29.

Watson has yet to play a full game since Sept. 24, when the Browns beat the Titans, 27-3.
