Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts revealed he played the second half of Sunday night’s 31-17 home win over the Dolphins with a brace on his left leg.
Hurt is dealing with a knee injury, according to ESPN.
“I’ll be fine,” Hurts said after the game.
However, he didn’t speak in such absolutes when asked whether he believes it will affect him moving forward.
“I hope not,” Hurts said.
Hurts did not have much to say about the injury, but he seemed to be hobbled several times throughout the night.
He said the injury did not happen during the game.
The fourth-year quarterback looked to be noticeably slower during one run, and gingerly trotted off the field after conducting the postgame interview.
He also came out of the locker room later than other teammates.
Hurts ran 11 times for just 21 yards in the game, although he scored on a one-yard touchdown run on Philadelphia’s controversial “push-tush” play.
His 1.9 yards per carry marked a season-low mark.
Hurts did not offer much when asked about how this injury will affect his preparation heading into Sunday’s road game against the Commanders (3-4).
“Not too much,” Hurts said. “Just get ready for the next opponent.”
While he lacked his usual burst while playing with the knee brace, Hurts instead beat the Dolphins (5-2) and former Alabama teammate Tua Tagovailoa with his arm.
He completed 23-of-31 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns, although he did throw a pick-six that evened the score at 17-all in the third quarter.
Hurts and the Eagles (6-1) responded with an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive on the ensuing possession to take a 24-17 lead.
They then turned a Tagovailoa interception into a game-sealing touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 13-play, 75-yard drive.
Almost half of Hurts’ passing yards went to receiver A.J. Brown, who torched the Dolphins for 137 yards on 10 catches while finding the end zone.
“I feel fine,” Hurts said. “I’m happy with how we responded, especially coming off of last week.”
