Debra Messing begs ‘far-left students’ to leave up Israeli hostage posters she hung in NYC

Debra Messing is showing both her will and grace.

The actress put up signs in Manhattan bearing the names and information of hostages being held by Hamas terrorists — begging “far-left students” to “leave the posters up.”

“I keep thinking about the 199 hostages,” the “Will & Grace” star wrote in an Instagram post accompanying the photo Wednesday night.

She said her friend, Israeli actress Noa Tishby, organized for “a group of us to tape posters of all the hostages in Times Square.

“Looking at their faces, 6 year old, 83 year old, it became so real,” Messing wrote of the experience. “People walking by would stop and spend some time with them.

“My heart hurts for the families of these innocents — Muslim, Christian, Jewish — all,” she continued.

“The most important thing is the rescue of the hostages.”

Messing went on to say she was grateful that President Biden ensured humanitarian aid “will get to every person living [in] Gaza by negotiating free passage from Egypt.

“It’s hard to process that Hamas refused to take care of the Palestinians, blocking aid from getting to them, blocking them from leaving,” she said.

“They could have opened passage into Gaza immediately. They chose not to.

“It illustrates the lack of humanity within Hamas’ cell.

“Of course, the Oct. 7th terror attack was the most barbaric, blood thirsty massacre of Jews since the Holocaust,” Messing continued, adding that she prays Hamas is “defeated.

“The entire globe will be safer,” she claimed.

Messing concluded her message by asking for prayers for the hostages’ safe return, the “defeat of Hamas… the physical safety for all the innocent Palestinians and Israelis who are suffering.”

“Pray for peace everywhere,” she said.

“And a personal request that young, passionate, far left students leave the posters up,” the actress added, saying taking them down “does nothing but hurt the families who want us all to remember their loved ones, as they await news.”

A group of New York University students were recently caught on camera tearing down posters of hostages in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

One of the students was later identified as Yazmeen Deyhimi, who blamed her behavior on misplaced anger.

Deyhimi, who previously worked at the Anti-Defamation League, has since insisted that “her love of protecting Jewish issues is still strong.”

Messing had previously signed onto a letter published by the National Council of Jewish Women demanding the release of the hostages.

“We urge all governments, international organizations and civil society groups to condemn the crimes and take action to help secure the release of hostages,” the letter read.

“We urge the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNICEF, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and others to do everything within their power to get much-needed aid to hostages,” it continues.

“International humanitarian law requires that Hamas immediately provide all necessary means to identify those being held hostage, to allow for medical treatment, not to engage in theri torture and ill-treatment and to respect the dignity of remains by not desecrating bodies and returning them for burial.

“We demand that these norms be respected, and stress that all parties to armed conflict must comply with international law.”

In a statement supporting the letter, Messing said: “Children with special needs and elderly women are being held and denied medical care.

“We demand that the international community, including the Red Cross, put additional pressure on Hamas for access to the hostages in the greatest need.”

Others who signed onto the message include Helen Mirren, Mandy Moore, Amy Schumer and Israeli actress Gal Gadot.
