I’m an animal psychic — here’s how to tell if your pet loves you

Does Fido love me? Does he love me not?

This animal psychic can help you figure that out.

Nancy Mello, 42, believes she has been able to talk with animals and the dead her entire life, but it wasn’t until 2018 that she finally decided to stop using her powers as a party trick and engage them as a full-time career.

Since then, self-proclaimed “animal communicator” living in Mystic, Connecticut, says she has helped find upwards of 100 missing pets, earned more than 400 five-star reviews on Google and gathered thousands of TikTok and Instagram followers, helping people to communicate with their beloved pets.

“I’m not woo-woo,” Mello told The Post. When communicating with animals she explained that she hears their voices — “just as I hear information now [talking with humans].”

The majority (57%) of pet parents describe their connection with their pets as emotional, intellectual and spiritual, but only 4% of pet owners say they know for sure what their pet was thinking or feeling, according to the pet care site Rover.

That’s where an animal psychic comes in.

Mello says she doesn’t have to look into a crystal ball to know what your pet is trying to say — and neither do you.

Mello told The Post that the main questions that pet owners ask her are: Is my pet happy? Are they bored? And do they love me?

She noted that while “it’s very different depending on the type of pet” and for each animal’s personality, there are some tell-tale observational signs that your furry friend loves you back.

“The big one for dogs is they want to be close to you,” Mello said. “They want to follow you around and they’re going to make eye contact. They’ll be watching you.”

The expert also shared that dogs that are allowed on the furniture will likely cuddle up to those they love.

“But then you get the dogs that get too hot, and then I say don’t take it personally [if they don’t snuggle],” Mello added.

Cats, on the other hand, are notoriously standoffish but will get cozy with those they love.

“With cats, they’re going to rub up against you, put their tail around you, and they’re going to talk,” the animal expert said.

And the one heart-melting thing that both dogs and cats in love will do? Put their paw on you, she said.

Once pet owners understand how to tell that their pet loves them, they often ask Mello how to let their pet know they love them back.

The animal communicator suggests that pet owners sing and dance around with their furry friends.

“Just be silly and interact with them,” Mello said. “I don’t know how many pets I’ve talked to that love songs being sung to them.”

She also shared that “they love the nicknames you give them — as long as it’s polite.”

“Like, don’t call them fat. God, I’ve heard that so many times: ‘Don’t call me fat,’ ” Mello claimed of her interactions with animals.

But the simple and sure way to let your pet know you love them is to tell them.

“I say the best thing you can do for your pet is talk to them,” Mello revealed, encouraging pet parents to chat with their animals like toddlers. “They love that.”

For pet owners who want to dig deeper with their four-legged friend, Rover is offering virtual Rover Readings — free sessions with Mello — on Rover.com, from Oct. 17 through Oct. 31.
