Eagles sign former Pro Bowler Julio Jones after loss to Jets

The Eagles are adding even more talent to their receiving corps.

Julio Jones has signed with the Eagles, the team announced.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that it was a one-year deal.

Jones, a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, is reuniting with former teammate A.J. Brown, who played with Jones on the Titans.

Philadelphia recently placed wideout Quez Watkins on IR after he suffered a hamstring injury in practice last week and missed the team’s 20-14 loss to the Jets on Sunday.

The 34-year-old Jones has been in the NFL since 2011, spending his first 10 seasons with the Falcons before playing for the Titans in 2021 and the Bucs last season.

Last year, Jones appeared in 10 games for Tampa Bay, catching 24 balls for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagles are adding Jones to a receiving corps that includes Brown, DeVonta Smith, Olamide Zaccheaus (who also played with Jones in Atlanta) and Britain Covey.

Jones holds Atlanta records with 848 catches for 12,896 yards, and his 60 touchdowns rank second.

He had a career-best 136 catches for 1,871 yards in 2015.

He had six straight seasons with more than 1,300 yards receiving until being limited to nine games in 2020 by a nagging hamstring injury.

He has twice led the NFL in receiving yards in a season, and in 2015 his 136 receptions, 1,871 yards and 116.9 yards per game led the NFL in all three categories.
