Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher caught on the field during touchdown return

It’s not exactly the Stanford band streaming onto the field during the final play against Cal in 1982, but it was pretty entertaining nevertheless.

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was caught straying from the sideline during Saturday’s SEC showdown vs. Auburn.

It happened early in the fourth quarter with the Aggies leading, 20-3.

Auburn cornerback Kayin Lee forced a fumble on A&M running back Reuben Owens.

Tigers linebacker Eugene Asante picked up the loose ball returned it 67 yards for a scoop-and-score touchdown.

In doing so, he ended up running between Fisher and the sideline at the 45-yard line.

The extra point shaved Texas A&M’s lead to 20-10, but the Aggies expanded the margin with a four-yard touchdown run by Le’Veon Moss with 3:59 remaining in the game to close out the 27-10 win.

Auburn had been hoping to move to 4-0 for the first time since 2019.

As for Fisher, he’s used to being in the spotlight.

That’s what happens when you get a 10-year, $94.95 million fully-guaranteed contract.

The 57-year-old Fisher took over at Texas A&M in December 2017 after eight seasons as head coach at Florida State.

Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies are trying to shake off the stink from last season, which saw them stumble to 5-7, including 2-6 in SEC play.
