‘Every’ Democrat agrees Biden is ‘too old to run’ for re-election: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough

“Every” Democrat MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough has spoken to privately says President Joe Biden is too old to run for re-election, the “Morning Joe” host said Wednesday.

Scarborough made the revelation during a discussion with Washington Post foreign affairs columnist David Ignatius about his recent editorial calling on the 80-year-old president to not run in 2024 — an opinion also shared by three-quarters of Americans and two-thirds of left-wing voters.

“[Co-host] Mika [Brzezinski] and I, everybody we talk to, every political discussion, all it talks a lot about Trump, but when it comes to Joe Biden, people say, ‘Man, he’s too old to run, isn’t he?’” Scarborough said on air.

“When I say every discussion, I don’t mean 99% of the discussion — every discussion.

“I asked Reverend Al [Sharpton] if he was hearing it all the time on our show this past week. He’s hearing it as well.”

“So, you know, we often will complain about Republicans who will say one thing about Donald Trump off the air and another on air. Well, let me just say, Democrats off the air will say ‘Joe Biden’s too old. Why is he running?’ On the air — they won’t say that.

“My question of course … is who can do a better job as president as Joe Biden and who can beat Donald Trump? I don’t see … any Democrats out there that can do that.”

When asked which Democrat would be a good candidate in 2024 Ignatius said he “could not name that person,” as he asked Biden to “search his soul” while asking himself if he is the best person to beat Trump or another GOP nominee.

Biden would be 86 years old at the end of a second term. Trump would be 82 and eclipse Biden’s record as the oldest president ever.

The highest profile Democrat challenging the president for the party’s nomination is conspiracy theorist and political scion Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who currently enjoys 11% support among likely voters, according to FiveThirtyEight.
