Manhattan DA won’t prosecute Curtis Sliwa over migrant protest outside Gracie Mansion

Curtis Sliwa won’t face prosecution after all following his arrest at a raucous protest outside Gracie Mansion over New York’s migrant housing crisis.

The Guardian Angels founder, dressed in his signature red beret and jacket, didn’t even have to appear before a judge on Monday — and was instead handed a slip of paper from a Manhattan Criminal Court clerk saying prosecutors won’t be moving forward with the case.

“That was the quickest, easy pass of criminal justice that I’ve ever had,” Sliwa, 69, said while holding up the document.

The former Republican New York City mayoral candidate had faced misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and obstruction after cops arrested him at the Aug. 28 rally and released him with a desk appearance ticket.

Sliwa was among five people busted at the demonstration, where punches were thrown as dueling groups of protesters clashed outside the mayoral residence on the Upper East Side.

After learning the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office was declining to prosecute his case, Sliwa — an outspoken critic of City Hall’s handling of the migrant crisis — continued to take pot shots at Mayor Eric Adams.

“If there is anyone responsible for the implosion of New York City, Eric Adams is responsible,” he told reporters. “He is the captain of the Titanic. He saw the iceberg – he said, ‘I could take on the iceberg! Onward – full speed ahead!’ Now it’s no mas, no mas – like a little boy lost in the supermarket looking for his mommy.”

Sliwa said that he’d be running for mayor again in 2025 – as he delivered a pointed barb at Adams’ recent controversial claims that the influx of asylum-seekers would “destroy” the Big Apple.

“No, the [migrant crisis] has not destroyed New York City — New York City has overcome things far worse than 120,000 illegal aliens. Look, 10,000 immigrants a day used to come here,” Sliwa said.

Sliwa and Adams recently got in a name-calling spat over the migrant crisis, where the mayor labeled his former election rival as a “buffoon.”

On Monday, Sliwa doubled downed on calling Adams “The Swaggerman with No Plan.”

Sliwa has become the unofficial spokesperson for protests against mass migrant shelters – including one where he teamed up with Lyin’ Long Island Rep. George Santos outside the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village.

He’s also racked up arrests while protesting migrants sites across the Big Apple — but defended them saying he’s “forcing the issue” about the migrant crisis.

“The Mayor thinks he can just roll over neighborhoods like this is pin the tail on the donkey,” he said. “Today it’s East Queens, tomorrow it’s Staten Island… Floyd Bennett Field. He’s a massive contradiction of himself.”

The Manhattan DA’s office did not immediately return a request for comment on Sliwa’s case.
