Tom Brady returns to Foxboro for Patriots opener: ‘Good to be back’

The king of Foxboro is back in town.

Tom Brady returned to Gillette Stadium on Sunday to be honored in a halftime ceremony for the Patriots opener against the Eagles, and he made sure his fans knew about it.

“Good to be back,” Brady wrote on X, along with a photo of the six Super Bowl trophies he won with New England.

He also commemorated the moment with an Instagram story, once again featuring those six titles with a photo of each Super Bowl ring and a heart to go along with it.

Brady looms as large as any Patriots player ever, having played 20 seasons for the team, in which he won three MVPs, threw for over 74,000 yards, and made New England a dynasty along with Bill Belichick.

Though Brady spent the last three years of his career with the Buccaneers after rumors of a rift between Brady, Belichick, and team owner Robert Kraft surfaced, he will surely be remembered as a Patriot when he enters Canton.

His relationship with Patriots brass appears to have mended, however, as both Kraft and Belichick have expressed public excitement for the legendary quarterback’s return to the stadium.

“We always knew he was a Patriot at heart and we wanted him back here — and we want our fans to be able to recognize everything he did for us and how special he is,” Kraft told The Post in June.

“When I made him the offer, he accepted right away… And, I mean, the demand for tickets for that game is unbelievable, so we look forward to honoring him.”

I’ve spoken to Tom a couple of times. Always look forward to seeing Tom and what a great experience and opportunity it was for me to coach Tom,” Belichick said in August during an appearance on “The Greg Hill Show.”

“Tremendous appreciation for everything he did for me, did for our team, everything he gave us. Look forward to seeing him.”
