6-year-old NYC girl stabbed in the back by teen cousin: cops

A 6-year-old Bronx girl was allegedly stabbed in the back by a relative inside her home, police said.

The incident unfolded just before 2 a.m. on Vyse Avenue, near Whitlock Avenue, when the relative — a 16-year-old autistic cousin — lashed out, according to authorities.

The girl’s blood-curdling screams alerted her mom to the bloody episode, while the suspect fled the third-floor apartment, police said.

The stunned mother dialed 911 and EMS raced the child to Lincoln Hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the NYPD said.

“They were both in the bedroom. The mom heard her yell and that’s when they discovered she was stabbed,” a police source said.

Cops recovered the bloody kitchen knife, authorities said.

Cops do not know what sparked the violence. As of Saturday afternoon, the suspect “was not in custody,” an NYPD spokesman said.

“We’re still sorting through everything. We don’t have any comment for right now,” a woman who answered the family’s door Saturday morning said.

The Saturday stabbing is the latest disturbing Big Apple blade incident involving youths.
