Internet not buying Trump’s booking weight in Georgia election case: ‘Insane lie’

Weight, what?

Former President Donald Trump lost 25 pounds — and gained an inch of height — since April, according to jail records filed Thursday after he surrendered to Fulton County authorities on charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

The 77-year-old’s measurements, which were pre-reported, according to ABC News, indicate that Trump is 215 pounds with a height of 6 feet 3 inches — 25 pounds lighter and 1 inch taller than when he was booked in Manhattan in April.

Trump’s weight left many users on X, formerly known as Twitter, incredulous.

“215? That’s an insane lie,” tweeted Rick Wilson, co-founder of the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump political action committee.

“If Trump weight (sic) 215lbs, then I have flowing blond locks past my shoulders,” Wilson, who is bald, snarked in a second tweet.

“215 pounds? No f—ing way!” Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner declared

“There is ZERO chance Trump is 6’3” and 215 pounds,” Democratic strategist Sawyer Hackett tweeted, including an image of Trump’s booking details, which also list the former president’s hair color as “blonde or strawberry” and his eye color as “blue.”

“Him lying on that form should be another charge,” X user Addie argued

Several X users also compared Trump’s height and weight to star athletes, with side-by-side images showing the striking visual disparity between them.

“Larry Fitzgerald – 6’3″, 218 lbs. Donald Trump – 6’3″, 215 lbs. LIKE HELL,” NFL writer Scott Kacsmar tweeted, referring to the former star NFL wide receiver.

“Lamar Jackson and Donald Trump both list their stats as 6’3″ and 215lbs,” Kevin Tripp of KABC radio pointed out, referencing the Baltimore Ravens quarterback

Cable news anchors were equally befuddled by Trump’s Fulton County jail records.

“The resemblance is uncanny,” MSNBC host Rachel Maddow joked when a panelist noted Trump’s dimensions were the same as Jackson’s.

“Even if he fasted, there is no way,” MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace argued, noting that Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, had his weight listed at 240 pounds after he was booked in Fulton County jail earlier on Thursday.

“So, he’s lost 25 pounds since he was president is what we are understanding,” CNN host Jake Tapper said, “because he was, I believe, Dr. Ronny Jackson said he weighed something like 242 for his official physical, which people at the time were skeptical of that number.”

Trump’s final physical exam as president, conducted in June 2020, measured him at 6 feet 3 and 244 pounds.

Based on body mass index, those measurements would put him in the clinically obese category.
