A woman escaped after a stranger approached her in a Bronx park and tried to force her to perform a sex act on him, authorities said.
The victim, 39, was on a bench in Crotona Park when the man spoke to her around 8:30 a.m. Friday, then left. It wasn’t clear what he said, according to police.
A short time later the man returned, exposed himself to the woman, and tried to “have the victim perform a sexual act upon him,” the NYPD said.
The victim “was able to separate herself from his grasp,” a police spokesman said.
He fled from the park “to parts unknown,” cops said. EMS rushed the woman to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where she was in stable condition, police said.
The suspect was described as a man with a light complexion, short curly hair, and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black sandals, cops said.
