Ghislaine Maxwell revered by inmates for not working with feds while in worst part of jail: ‘She didn’t crack’

Ghislaine Maxwell has got the juice.

The convicted sex predator is revered among 1,549 inmates at the administrative security Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn — because she refused to sell out to federal authorities who kept her in the worst part of the notorious jail.

“Ghislaine Maxwell, she’s highly respected because she didn’t crack, and they had her in the worst part of the jail,” Daryl Campbell, a rapper and podcaster currently behind bars at the facility on 29th Street — which over the years has been home to the likes of R. Kelly, pharma bro Martin Shkreli, and alleged crypto crook Sam Bankman-Fried — told The Post.

During her two-year stint in MDC, the 61-year-old madam whined about having to use a bathroom with an open sewer drain and rats running around, noshing on rotten and maggot-infested food, and being unable to shower in the facility because guards would stare at her.

“The part they had her in is a place where people literally crack. They cop out or they start cooperating with the government as soon as they get there,” Campbell, 38, said.

Maxwell’s lawyers ripped the facility in court filings as “reprehensible and utterly inappropriate,” claiming the jail’s conditions rivaled those experienced by fictional cannibal Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 film “The Silence of the Lambs.”

After the sex trafficker was finally moved out of her cesspool unit, Campbell claimed she got “a real luxurious unit,” but didn’t elaborate further on the specs in her improved digs.

Maxwell eventually was transferred to low-security FCI Tallahassee in July 2022 to serve her 20-year sentence, for aiding Epstein with finding and grooming girls and young women for him to abuse.

The twisted socialite, however, appealed her sex-trafficking conviction in February, claiming prosecutors and the judge made a series of “fatal” errors during her trial.

Campbell, who goes by the moniker “Taxstone,” was convicted on manslaughter charges earlier this year for fatally shooting the bodyguard of a rival rapper at a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in 2016.

Campbell, who was sentenced to 35 years along with five years of supervised release, protested that the shooting had actually been a case of self-defense.

“What is wrong with protecting yourself?” he wailed. “I’m not going around hitting people. But I have to hit somebody if they hit me.”
