A deli clerk was shot in the groin during an attempted armed robbery at an East Harlem store, one of at least three men wounded by gunfire in the city overnight, cops said.
Two robbers walked into the Essex Deli on 116th Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue and tried to steal money at gunpoint around 11:30 p.m. Friday, police said.
The clerk, 34, was shot during a struggle and a 22-year-old customer was struck in the head with a gun.
“It’s unclear if they took any money because cash was strewn around on the floor,” a police source said.
One of the male robbers was wearing a white top and the other had on a black hat.
Police are looking for video of the incident.
Two more men were shot in the Bronx early morning Saturday.
A 25-year-old was shot multiple times during a dispute on the 9th floor at 220 East 178th Street in Mt. Hope around 1:20 a.m., cops said.
The gunman shot his rival in the buttocks and thigh and fled, cops said. The victim, who was from Manhattan, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
Then, about a half hour later, a 22-year-old man was shot in the right inner thigh at 547 Southern Boulevard.
The victim, who was intoxicated, was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition, a police source said. The shooter, who was wearing a black hoodie, was in the wind.
