Skip Bayless’ Dak Prescott troll sets off NFL Network reporter Jane Slater

The chorus of Skip Bayless haters continues to get louder.

NFL Network reporter Jane Slater joined the growing list of sports media personalities taking issue with the Fox Sports host, making her feelings known in a post Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It started when Bayless tweeted about a subject near and dear to his heart: The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott.

“Dak is just too insecure to be the leader of America’s Team. And I think the locker room knows that,” Bayless posted.

That didn’t sit well with Slater, who responded to Bayless by tweeting: “This guy has never stepped foot in the locker room and I know players aren’t talking to him…fascinating take here.”

Slater, 42, has been covering NFL locker rooms for NFL Network since 2016, so she should be considered a credible source.

The 71-year-old Bayless is readying to re-launch FS1’s “Undisputed,” which has been on hiatus since June, following the departure of co-host Shannon Sharpe.

The show returns Aug. 28 and it is shaping up to have a different format, one that pretty much aligns with former sparring partner Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s “First Take.”

Bayless, like Smith, is lining up a rotation of talking heads to join him each week.

That list includes Showtime’s Rachel Nichols, rapper Lil Wayne and Amazon Prime Video’s Richard Sherman.

As for Sharpe, the 55-year-old appears close to revealing his new gig.

On Monday, the Pro Football Hall of Famer tweeted he’ll “be back” before the NFL season kicks off Thursday, Sept. 7, when the Chiefs host the Lions.

One of Sharpe’s new jobs could be joining “First Take,” which means he would be going head-to-head with Smith on a regular basis.

Smith has openly campaigned for Sharpe to join him, saying last month “the talks are serious” about the free agent broadcaster heading to ESPN.

“I’m not going to tell you it’s true, but I’m not going to tell you it’s not,” Smith said on his YouTube channel addressing the Sharpe rumors. “Yeah, the talks are serious. I want this brother on ‘First Take’… I want him to have a shinier light placed on him than a few of the times we last saw him.

“I want Shannon Sharpe on ‘First Take’ and I aim to get him … I’m hopeful. I’m very hopeful and very confident that ultimately we will be announcing sooner than later that he will be on ‘First Take.’”

The Post first reported in May that Sharpe was leaving “Undisputed” following seven tumultuous seasons with Bayless.
