Broncos lose receivers Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler on brutal day

The Broncos will not have Tim Patrick as part of Russell Wilson’s revenge tour.

The wide receiver is “believed” to have torn his Achilles, a season-ending injury, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday.

Patrick, 29, was seeking to mount a comeback after tearing his ACL during training camp last season.

Patrick was slated to be a starting receiver alongside Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton on the Broncos’ depth chart.

In other Broncos receiver news, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Monday that the team plans to release K.J. Hamler on a non-football illness designation.

The move is “procedural” and the Broncos do plan on bringing Hamler back when healthy.

Hamler said on Instagram that he was diagnosed with pericarditis, a mild heart irritation, and is “taking a quick break” to get it treated.

Denver went 5-12 last year and replaced head coach Nathaniel Hackett with Sean Payton.

The 2022 season also marked Wilson’s first year under center in Denver, where the former Seahawks quarterback threw 11 interceptions and a career-low 16 touchdowns.
