Steve Nash sells Brooklyn townhouse after parting ways with Brooklyn Nets

NBA legend-turned-coach and philanthropist Steve Nash, and his wife Lilla Frederick, have sold their charming red brick Cobble Hill townhouse for $5.98 million — less than its $6.25 million asking price.

The Brooklyn home listed on April 11, went into contract just over four weeks later, and closed only recently.

The Canadian star Nash, who had parted ways with the Brooklyn Nets seven games into the 2022-2023 season, had met with the Toronto Raptors in May to discuss a coaching job, according to reports, but that team hired another coach in June.

The couple, who share two children, Lola and Bella, bought the 20-foot-wide home at 82 Amity St. for $4.99 million in November 2020, down from its $5.5 million asking price — and far lower than its 2019 ask of $6.49 million.

The turn-of-the-century five-bedroom, 4½-bath home is 4,200 square feet and features good outdoor space, including a landscaped garden and a private roof deck with city skyline views.

The home boasts an open chef’s kitchen, a formal living room with an original marble fireplace mantel and a full-floor main bedroom suite.

Design details include wide-plank white oak floors, exposed white brick, and modern steel casement doors and windows along the garden and parlor’s rear glass wall. Alas, there’s no basketball court.

The listing brokers, Ravi Kantha and Matthew Lesser of Leslie J. Garfield, declined to comment.
