Dennis Hernandez arrested after missing court date for alleged ESPN brick throwing

Things have gone from bad to worse for Dennis Hernandez.

Hernandez — otherwise known as the older brother of Aaron Hernandez — was arrested Friday after missing a court date following a misdemeanor charge of breach of peace when he allegedly threw a brick at ESPN’s headquarters in March, according to TMZ Sports.

Authorities reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Hernandez when he failed to show up in court last week, and Hernandez turned himself into the Bristol Police Department early Friday morning.

He was cuffed and booked on a charge of failure to appear, per TMZ, and took a smiling mugshot.

Hernandez allegedly threw the brick on March 23 with a note reading: “To all media outlets. It’s about time you all realeyes [sic] the affect media has on all family members. Since you’re a worldwide leader, you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up!”

The note was signed: “Yours truly, Dennis J. Hernandez.”

Aaron Hernandez, a tight end for the Patriots from 2010-12, was charged and convicted of murdering Odin Lloyd, ending his football career.

In 2017, he was found dead in his jail cell, which was ruled suicide.

Five days earlier, he was acquitted by a jury on the charge of double-murder in a separate case.

He was posthumously diagnosed with CTE.

According to police, Dennis Hernandez was turned away from ESPN’s headquarters after showing up in an Uber.

He then threw the brick and left the scene in the Uber.

According to TMZ, he is due in court next week.
