Aaron Rodgers gives new Packers quarterback Sean Clifford a ‘housewarming gift’

Aaron Rodgers gave a “housewarming gift” to Packers rookie quarterback Sean Clifford on his way out of Green Bay, and it was a signed jersey and photos of – you guessed it – Aaron Rodgers.

Clifford, who was selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Penn State, shared a picture of the display, which features the jersey and two photos of Rodgers – one in a game against the Bears, and another of him pointing in a huddle.

“Sean – Welcome to GB! Enjoy that great city and my locker!” Rodgers wrote on the number of the jersey

“Not a bad a house warming gift…thank you!” Clifford wrote on the Twitter post, tagging Rodgers and Fanatics while adding a #GoPackGo hashtag.

The jersey presentation was part of the NFLPA’s Rookie Premiere event, in which rookies are sent videos and given jerseys by their football elders.

Rodgers, of course, left the Packers this offseason for the New York Jets after 18 seasons in Green Bay.

It seems highly unlikely Clifford will be taking regular-season snaps for the Packers in Rodgers’ place, with former first-rounder Jordan Love expected to take over as the starter.

Instead, Clifford appears set to be the backup, with Danny Etling the only other quarterback currently on the roster.

The Packers did surprise some when they drafted Clifford, a 24-year-old, four-year starter at Penn State, who had never been considered a top draft prospect.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has been enjoying his time in New York, galavanting across the city and attending everything from Knicks games to Taylor Swift concerts.

The four-time league MVP has brought Super Bowl expectations to the Jets – but at least had some nice words for the new quarterback on his former team on his way out.
