Coco Gauff vs. Madison Keys prediction: WTA Eastbourne odds, pick

Coco Gauff and Madison Keys will meet in the semifinals of WTA Eastbourne on Friday morning.

Gauff, currently ranked as the No. 7 player in the world, is a -190 favorite against her compatriot.

Lifting any trophy on the WTA Tour is a big deal, so neither Keys nor Gauff will overlook this match, but it comes just a few days short of the start of the Championships at Wimbledon, and that does add an interesting wrinkle to the contest.

Coco Gauff vs. Madison Keys pick

(6 a.m. ET)

The lawns in England are certainly a happy hunting ground for Gauff, who burst onto the scene with a run to the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2019 as a 15-year-old.

Gauff started the tournament with an upset of Venus Williams in Round 1.

Gauff has established herself as a mainstay in the top-20 in the world rankings since then and she’s been ranked inside the top-10 since August 2022.

Generally speaking, this has been a decent campaign for Gauff.

She won a title right out of the gates in Auckland and has won 27 of 37 matches, but it’s been a while since the 19-year-old has made it to a semifinal on the WTA Tour.

This will be Gauff’s first trip to a final four since February, when she lost to Iga Swiatek in Dubai.

Keys has not played as much tennis as Gauff in 2023, but she’s been solid when she’s been on court with a 17-8 record.

Keys was upset in the second round of the French Open by World No. 120 Kayla Day, but the loss hasn’t lingered as the 28-year-old has not dropped a set at Eastbourne.

Both Keys and Gauff have shown to enjoy the conditions of playing on the grass and both women are in strong enough form to make this match pretty close to a coin flip.

With that being the case, I’ll take a shot on the underdog Keys to make it to the finals at Eastbourne this weekend.
