Jordan Poyer’s wife Rachel Bush blasts ‘arrogance of others’ for canceled golf tournament

Jordan Poyer’s wife has spoken out about why her husband’s charity golf tournament that had been scheduled for one of Donald Trump’s courses was cancelled.

Over the weekend, Poyer, a Pro Bowl safety on the Bills, announced that the benefit was called off due to other participants’ hesitance to partake in an event in any way affiliated with the former president.

Monday, Poyer’s wife, model Rachel Bush, weighed in on the news.

“Let’s be very clear. Jordan did not cancel his event. We will always stand proudly with our beliefs and hold true to them. Publicly,” Bush tweeted.

“And we can easily spend our own money to fund the tournament. It wasn’t about that. Tournament will be at same spot next year. Trump’s course.”

Poyer and Bush wed in 2018 and she stood by her man with the tournament having been nixed this year.

“The event was cancelled due to the arrogance of others, and then backing out last minute leaving us in a difficult spot to make everything happen properly,” Bush tweeted. “Especially while we are on a family vacation.. We want it to be great and next year it will be outstanding! Thank you!”

Poyer had announced the news over the weekend.

“I was really excited for this tournament,” he said in an Instagram video that posted on Saturday.

“It was going to be at one of my favorite courses, the Blue Monster at Trump National in Doral [in Miami].

“Unfortunately, there have been a numerous amount of teams up north that have pulled out of the tournament, not just out of the tournament but also wrote e-mails to a big sponsor that was going to help sponsor my tournament, and that company now, it’s unfortunate that they have pulled out and decided that they don’t want to take part in my tournament, in which they took part in last year, because of where it’s at, Trump National in Doral.”

Poyer cited Erie County Medical Center as a sponsor that had pulled out; however, the hospital told the Buffalo News that it would’ve been a beneficiary of the event, not a sponsor.

Proceeds were to benefit the hospital’s fitness center for adolescents in recovery services, per Buffalo outlet WIVB.

Poyer has promised the fundraiser will return next year.
